Week 2 of Christmas Ornament CAL

This week Beansprout Creations had a gingerbread man ornament. This little guy is really cute! The pattern was very easy to do, the only problem is he doesn't want to lay flat! After soaking him in some water and tugging a little he was flatter, but not where I would like him to be. I would recommend not doing it so tight, and maybe lightly felting him before decorating to get him to lay flat. Enough talk here is a pic!

12 Weeks of Christmas CAL

Found this great CAL on Ravelry for a 12 weeks of Christmas CAL. this pattern was so easy and fun! I think I am going to make a bunch of sets for Christmas presents this year! On Rounds 2 and 3 I switched to red. I made mine with mini skeins I bought at my LYS of Cascade 220, they were only $1.00 and they work great for these small projects!

OCD and Me

Okay I'm sure we all have little OCD things that we do... here's mine.

#1 Colored Candy- Has to be separated by color, then only even numbers, the odd numbers get either eaten by my hubby, my kids, or the trash. Then I HAVE to eat in reverse rainbow by twos. Crazy I know... and any hope of me eating M&M's in a dark movie theater are not happening. I tried to eat just a handful at a time... but they tasted funny.

#2 Bites- I eat even numbers only, so if there are 15 bites of carrots... I only eat 14.

#3 Nails- Okay this one drives my parents and husband nuts... but I don't like the white part of the nail, so I clip it. I clip my nails everyday to make sure no white is showing. I have grown my nails out and tried fake ones but it makes me feel like there is dirt under my nails, drives me insane!

Okay my weirdness is done :)

Update on Limbs, and New Hat!

So I started the Limbs pattern and after some difficulty (my on fault LOL) I got it going. I'm got this right one about half done, and I'm really liking it! For some odd reason my camera does not like photographing the color red... but I'll get it one of these days! I am using DK Happy Feet don't know the name of the color-way or anything, because I have a bad habit of throwing away the label. Here are some pics!

Crochet Wrist Warmers!

Well, this is my first blog post... so let's see how it goes!

I have been in the mood to make wintery stuff for a while now, one of my favorite things to make are wrist warmers or fingerless gloves. I live in Illinois and it does get really cold here, but I dislike things on my fingers, so I sacrifice my digits to the cold every winter and so far no frostbite! But I thought "Hey, if I had some fingerless gloves then my whole hand would not be cold!"

The first pair I made I used Caron Simply Soft Shadows in 0007 Mardi Grey. (Link to pattern: Crochet Wristwarmers)

I added 2 extra rows, so instead of 7 hdc rows and 7 dc rows, mine has 8 hdc rows, and 8 dc rows.

I am working on a hooded scarf to wear with these... unfortunately I ran out of yarn :( So when I get around to it I will buy some more and finish this puppy!

Also I found this great group on Ravelry called Fingerless Glove Fanatics, they have a pattern of the month and in August lauria posted this pattern: Limbs

I instantly fell in love! I knew I had to make a pair, so off I went to my stash to find something that would work. I found this great sock yarn, I have no idea who made the yarn or anything the tag seems to have been lost. But here you can see the great colors this yarn has! Stay tuned for update son how these gloves are coming along, also hopefully soon I will have the hooded scarf done, and I can post the pattern for it to be tested!
